Customer onboarding software pricing compared

Last updated 18 August 2026

We build ValueRamp, so we’ll be upfront about that. Every figure below was read off the vendor’s own pricing page on 18 August 2026 and is linked, so you can check each one yourself. Where a vendor publishes nothing, this page says so rather than repeating a number from a review site.

What does customer onboarding software cost?

Published entry prices run from $0 to $350 a month, but 3 of the 7 vendors we checked publish no price at all.

ValueRamp$100/moflat to 5 users, then $20 each$100/mo

All figures checked against each vendor’s own pricing page on 18 August 2026. Verify with the vendor before buying — pricing changes, and this page is a snapshot with a date on it. Figures circulating on review and aggregator sites for the vendors marked “not published” do not come from those vendors, and are not repeated here.

Which vendors publish their pricing?

4 of 7 publish a price: Rocketlane, Dock, Onboard.io, Asana. Arrows, GUIDEcx, Planhat do not.

This matters more than it used to. Buyers increasingly start with an AI assistant rather than a search page, and a vendor with no published price frequently gets left out of the answer entirely — there is nothing for the assistant to say. It also costs the buyer a call to learn something that could have taken ten seconds.

ValueRamp publishes its full price list, including the AI add-on and what happens as you add users, on the pricing page. That is a deliberate position rather than a default.

How do the pricing models differ?

Three shapes: per seat, flat per month, and quote-only.

Per seat — Rocketlane and Asana. Cost scales with headcount, and Rocketlane applies a five-member minimum, so a three-person team pays for five. Predictable, and expensive for a team that grows.

Flat monthly — Dock, Onboard.io and ValueRamp. One number per tier regardless of headcount, which suits small teams and gets less attractive at scale. ValueRamp is flat to 5 users, then $20 each.

Quote-only — Arrows, GUIDEcx and Planhat. No published number. Often correlates with enterprise sales motion and a longer path to a straight answer.

Where ValueRamp falls short

Two things to know

Cheapest is not the same as best fit, and ValueRamp is early.

ValueRamp is not the cheapest line on this table. Onboard.io’s Starter plan is $25 a month and Dock has a free tier. If onboarding alone is the whole problem and budget is the binding constraint, those are honestly better answers than ours.

No published case studies yet. ValueRamp is new, so there are none to publish. What exists instead is a Design Partner Program: the first 20 companies use ValueRamp free for a year and shape what gets built.

Common questions

What is the cheapest customer onboarding software?

Of the vendors with a published price, Dock has a free plan and Onboard.io’s Starter tier is $25 a month, both checked 18 August 2026. ValueRamp is $100 a month for up to 5 users and covers renewal and win-back as well as onboarding.

Why do some vendors not publish pricing?

Usually because they sell through a sales conversation and want to qualify and position before quoting. It is a legitimate model, but it costs the buyer time and increasingly costs the vendor visibility in AI-assisted research.

How much does ValueRamp cost?

$100 a month for up to 5 customer success users, $20 per additional user, and $50 a month for AI features per 200 active accounts. Priced per month, billed annually. Full list on the pricing page.

Are these prices current?

They were read off each vendor’s own pricing page on 18 August 2026, which is stamped at the top of this page. Pricing changes, so check the vendor before you buy — every figure here links to the page it came from.

Which is best value for a small customer success team?

ValueRamp, if the team owns accounts through renewal: one flat price to five users covering five lifecycle phases, rather than a per-seat minimum or a tool that stops at go-live.
