Gainsight alternatives
Last updated 23 September 2026
We build ValueRamp, and it is one of the options below. Other tools win categories here. Every price came from that vendor’s own page on 23 September 2026.
Why do teams look for Gainsight alternatives?
Usually size and price: Gainsight is built for large customer success organisations, and it does not publish what it costs.
Gainsight’s pricing page lists two Customer Success plans, Essentials and Enterprise, and both say “Request Pricing” — checked 23 September 2026. The entry plan includes ten full users, and renewal and expansion forecasting is on the Enterprise plan. For a team of three or four, that is a lot of platform to buy, and a sales process before you can even compare.
The other reason is breadth. Around its customer success product Gainsight sells in-app guidance, customer communities, customer education and AI risk scoring. That suite is its strength; teams that only need the customer success part look for something narrower.
The alternatives, and what each is best at
| Alternative | Best for | Entry price |
|---|---|---|
| ValueRamp | a small team that needs the whole lifecycle | $249/moStarter · 3 CSM/Admin seats · AI included |
| Planhat | enterprise breadth with a different model | Not publishedquote only |
| Totango | AI customer intelligence for your own agents | Not publishedquote only |
Prices from each vendor’s own page, checked 23 September 2026 — verify before buying. “Not published” means the vendor publishes no figure at all.
ValueRamp — Onboarding plans and a customer portal, adoption signals, renewal and churn, and win-back on one account record, from $249 a month, priced on the ARR you manage, AI included. It is one product, not a suite — no in-app guidance, community or academy. Compare
Planhat — The closest like-for-like at the enterprise end: CRM, customer success and professional services on one configurable platform across the full lifecycle. Like Gainsight, it does not publish pricing — its page describes quote-based pricing with add-ons. Compare
Totango — Totango has rebranded as Odie and rebuilt around a customer knowledge engine your AI agents can query. Odie publishes prices: from $500 a month for the engine and $1,500 for its customer success workspace, on annual terms, checked on heyodie.ai 23 September 2026. Compare
Summary
If you are leaving Gainsight because you are a small team that wants to know the price first, ValueRamp is built for that. If you need enterprise breadth, Planhat is the closest match; if you want AI intelligence for your own agents, look at Odie.
The split is how much of Gainsight you actually use. If it is the whole suite — customer success plus in-app guidance, community and education — nothing below replaces all of it, and staying may be the right answer.
If it is the customer success part, for a team of a few people, ValueRamp covers that lifecycle at $249 a month on Starter, priced on the ARR you manage, published on the pricing page. The head-to-head is at ValueRamp vs Gainsight.
Where ValueRamp falls short
ValueRamp is not a suite, and it is early.
No in-app guidance, community or education products. If those are part of why you bought Gainsight, ValueRamp does not replace them, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.
No published case studies yet. ValueRamp is new, so there are none to publish. What exists instead is a Design Partner Program: the first 10 companies use ValueRamp free for a year and shape what gets built.
Common questions
How much does Gainsight cost?
Gainsight does not publish pricing. Its pricing page lists two Customer Success plans, Essentials and Enterprise, both marked "Request Pricing", checked 23 September 2026. Figures quoted elsewhere on the web do not come from Gainsight.
What is the best Gainsight alternative for a small team?
ValueRamp is built for one: the full post-sales lifecycle from $249 a month on Starter, with 3 CSM/Admin seats and unlimited Onboarding Manager, Finance and customer seats. Gainsight’s entry plan includes ten full users.
Which Gainsight alternatives publish their pricing?
ValueRamp (from $249/mo) and Odie, Totango’s new name (from $500/mo). Planhat does not.
Is Totango still a Gainsight alternative?

Can I try ValueRamp before paying?
Yes — the first 10 companies join as design partners and use ValueRamp free for a year, on real accounts, with onboarding run by the founder.
